West Bengal govt writes to Railways seeking meeting to run special trains
Kolkata/IBNS: The West Bengal government on Saturday wrote a letter to the Indian Railways seeking a meeting to run a few pairs of special trains to facilitate the travelling of general commutators within the state.
A letter by the government to the Eastern Railway general manager Suneet Sharma read, "We have helped the railway authorities to run metro trains peacefully and efficiently. We have allowed special trains in our state on (in) observance of covid protocol."
"Indeed, rather than taking resort (resorting) to unquiet means, we could and discuss how a few pairs of trains could be run locally in the morning and in the afternoon hours to serve the general commutators at large," read the letter written by the state's additional chief secretary H.K. Dwivedi.
