Some Gulf countries still restricting entry to Indians amid Covid-19: Aviation Minister
New Delhi/IBNS: Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Tuesday said some countries have still not removed restrictions on the entry of Indian nationals and the Centre is ready to fly passengers once they ease the limitations.
"We are operating international flights under VBM since 6 May 2020. However, some countries, including some in the Gulf region, have still not removed restrictions on the entry of Indian nationals. We are ready to fly passengers to these countries whenever they ease restrictions," Puri said in a statement on Twitter.

Saudi Arabia is one such country that restricts entry of passengers from India at present amid the coronavirus pandemic.
International flights have been suspended in India since March 23 as the countries across the world imposed lockdown to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
While domestic flights were resumed on May 25 last after a gap of two months, the government flew Indians stranded in different parts of the world through special Vande Bharat Mission flights, entering into air bubble pacts with around 18 countries, including the US, the UK, the UAE, Kenya, Bhutan and France.
Air bubble agreements between two countries are signed to operate international flights between their territories.
