Vijayawada/UNI: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) activists organised a demonstration in front of their state office in Andhra Pradesh's Vijaywada on Wednesday to protest against the arrest of Republic TV editor-in chief Arnab Goswami.

The BJP activists led by Parliamentary constituency in-charge V Satyamurthy raised slogans against the arrest of Arnab Goswami and condemned the arrest.

He alleged that Goswami was implicated in a false case by the police and got arrested.

Satyamurthy appealed to all the journalists across the nation to condemn the arrest.

“The arrest of Arnab Goswami reminded me of the emergency days. The Mumbai police acted partially and framed him in a false case,” he said.

He ridiculed the Shiva Sena for what he described as becoming 'Sonia Sena'.

Satyamurthy announced that the BJP state unit would stand by Arnab Goswami.

Minority Morcha state president S K Bhazi also condemned the arrest and demanded the immediate release of Goswami.
