PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti arrives in Jammu; Shiv Sena, Bajrang Dal show black flags

Jammu/UNI: Protests marked the arrival of People's Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti arrival here ahead of scheduled meeting of People's Conference for Gupkar Declaration on November 7.

Ms Mufti arrived here to attend the meeting of PCGD likely to be held on November 7 and will be chaired by National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah, who is reportedly arriving on Saturday morning.

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena (Bala Saheb Thackrey) J&K staged protest outside Jammu Airport on the arrival of Ms Mufti, shouring "Go Back Go Back Mehbooba" slogans and showing her black flags. Activists of Bajrang Dal also protested on her arrival amidst shouting slogans.

Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration was framed to aggressively fight the restoration of Article 370 and 35A, which was abrogated by the Centre on August 5, 2019.

The  signatories of the declaration will meet here on November 7 and before the meeting the PDP President will also interact with party cadres on November 6 at the party’s headquarters.

Ms Mufti will also meet senior leaders of PDP this evening.

However, during the Gupkar Declaration meeting, discussion on land laws, Abrogation of Article 370, 35A will remain on cards.

All political, social and non-social organizations have strongly rejected the Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration in Jammu.
