Counting 'completely transparent' : EC on Congress, RJD's allegations of miscounting
New Delhi/IBNS: The Election Commission (EC) has denied allegations of miscounting of votes in Bihar elections and claims that the successful candidates were not give certificates, asserting that they were not based on facts.
The poll body said the counting was done in front of all political parties round-wise and reports of counting for each round were given to them, said an NDTV report.
During the counting on Tuesday, as the process was delayed due to Covid-19 restrictions and changes in voting hours in all the three phases, the opposition parties alleged that their winning candidates were not given certificates under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's pressure.
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and CM face of Grand Alliance, Tejaswi Yadav, tweeted a list 119 party candidates who had won but were being denied certificates by district administration and election officials.
The Election Commission in a press conference has said at that time results for only 146 out of 243 seats were declared, adding that the process was "completely transparent" and urged the political parties--Congress and RJD--to accept the public mandate, the report added.
