Kolkata/IBNS: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday touched down Swami Vivekananda's House in north Kolkata ahead of his packed schedule in poll-bound West Bengal.

At around 11 am, Shah paid homage to Vivekananda amid a decent crowd outside Vivekananda's house.

Refraining from making any political statement, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) strongman spoke about the ideals of Vivekananda.

The state is witnessing a massive contest between the BJP and ruling Trinamool Congress.

Shah, who landed in Kolkata late last night, will address a mega rally in Medinipur where a meaty number of MLAs, MPs from various political parties including the ruling Trinamool are likely to join the saffron camp.
