Donald Trump defamed Republican Party’s name: Union Minister Ramdas Athawale
Guwahati/IBNS: Union minister Ramdas Athawale said that US president Donald Trump has defamed the name of the Republican Party, in a reaction to the Capitol Hill violence.
Athawale said that Donald Trump has been doing hooliganism after his defeat in the US president election.
"He is from Republican Party and I am also from the Republican Party. Donald Trump has defamed the name of Republican Party by doing such acts. This type of hooliganism is not allowed in democracy. In 1998, Atal Bihari Vajpapayee government was defeated by only one vote and general election was held in 1999. Indian democracy is so much better and more powerful than the United States of America,” Athawale, who is the president of the Republican Party of India (A), said.
“I would like to request Donald Trump that this type of hooliganism is not lustre of the Republican Party. This incident is an insult to the USA, Republican Party and democracy. Donlad Trump has tarnished his image and defamed the name of Republican Party,” he added.
Athawale further said that the Shiv Sena-Congress-NCP led Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi (MVA) is in trouble for its own conflict and BJP may form the government in Maharashtra again.
He also said that the Congress party should withdraw their support from the Uddhav Thackeray-led government.
“We are now waiting for this government to collapse. Shiv Sena wants to rename Aurangabad as Sambhajinagar, but its ally party Congress has opposed it. The Republican Party of India also opposes it. Shiv Sena can’t do it forcefully.
"The Congress party clearly said that Aurangabad name will not be changed. If Shiv Sena will do it forcefully, then I would like to request the Congress party to withdraw their support from the Maharashtra government,” Athawale said.
The Union minister said while addressing a press conference in Guwahati that the Congress party should withdraw their support from the Uddhav Thackeray-led government.
“If Congress will withdraw their support, then BJP-RPI led government may be formed in Maharashtra. We have 117 MLAs and Devendra Fadnavis will become Chief Minister of Maharashtra if Congress will withdraw their support,” Athawale said.
He further said that, Shiv Sena also wants to change the chairperson of UPA and they are promoting Sharad Pawar name for it, but the Shiv Sena has no right to interfere with it as they are not part of UPA.
“Over these issues internal conflicts between Shiv Sena and Congress are going on. After a few days, Congress may withdraw their support from the Uddhav Thackeray government. We are now watching the government when the fight will start,” Athawale said.
Athawale also suggested the Maharashtra government to change the name of Aurangabad airport as Ajanta Ellora if the government wants to rename it.
