Narendra Modi, Mamata Banerjee jointly visit museum dedicated to Netaji in Kolkata's Victoria Memorial
Kolkata/UNI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday paid homage to the statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and inaugurated a permanent museum dedicated to the freedom fighter at the Victoria Memorial to mark his 125th birth anniversary.
He engaged in a short conversation with Suvendu Adhikari as soon as he entered the Victoria Memorial.
Later, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee entered Victoria Memorial, after which Modi and Mamata toured the Netaji exhibition together.
The Prime Minister and Chief Minister watched the cultural program organised at the Victoria Memorial to mark the birth anniversary of the freedom fighter. Union ministers Prahlad Patel and Babul Supriyo were present.
The Prime Minister unveiled a book on "Letters of Netaji" and launched commemorative stamps and coins honouring Subhas Chandra Bose.
West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar was also present in the event.
Singers Papon, Usha Uthup and Sourendra-Soumyajit performed in the cultural program.
