New Delhi: Ukraine recently received its first shipment of coronavirus vaccine from India.

India had sent a consignment of 500,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine to Kyiv, showing New Delhi's strong role in helping the world in the fight against the deadly disease.

India's External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar tweeted: "Made in India vaccines arrive in Kyiv. Glad to facilitate Ukraine’s vaccination campaign."

The virus is believed to have originated from China.

It has now hit different countries across the globe.
