Mamata Banerjee's emotional card will not work in Bengal: Rita Bahuguna Joshi
Etawah/UNI: Exuding confidence of the party's victory in the West Bengal elections, BJP MP and former Minister Rita Bahuguna Joshi said here on Wednesday that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's emotional card will not work in the Assembly elections this time.
The BJP leader told journalists here that Banerjee is trying to play the emotional card but it will not yield any advantages to her because the public opinion of Bengal is with the BJP and the party government is ready to take over in Bengal.
She said that the BJP is fighting the panchayat elections in Uttar Pradesh with full strength.
The party has decided to contest the panchayat elections by declaring for the first time. In this, the election of the members of the district panchayat and the block chiefs will be contested.
When the BJP contests the election of the president of the district panchayat, it is certain that the party will be strengthened at the village level. This will benefit the party at the lower level because at the gram panchayat level, the party never used to field its candidates before, she added.
The Prayagraj MP said that the BJP works for 12 months of the year and presents itself by staying in the midst of the people. Sometimes it happens that the central and state government schemes do not reach the common people in the absence of publicity and that is why it has been decided that now the central and state government schemes will also be promoted to the village level so that people get a sense of the kind of work the BJP is doing.
Joshi said that before the formation of the BJP government, Uttar Pradesh was at the 24th or 25th number on the scale of development but today under the Yogi government, it has come first and second on the scale.
'We have moved forward in every aspect and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath deserves many congratulations for this. He has also controlled crimes in a big way and organized crimes has almost ended in the state while the police and administrative officials are working to control other forms of crimes as well,' she added.
