Vote for Modi instead of Mamata if you want schemes over scams: Amit Shah
Kolkata/IBNS: Cornering the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government over the alleged corruption, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday appealed to people to vote for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) instead of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to choose schemes over scams.
"I appeal to you to vote for Modiji if you want schemes and vote for Mamata Didi if you want scams," Shah said at a rally at Purulia in poll-bound West Bengal.
"Modiji has made 115 schemes while Didi has made 115 scams," the BJP strongman added.
Shah on Thursday once again targeted Mamata's parliamentarian nephew Abhishek Banerjee, the de facto number two in the TMC, saying, "While Modiji is trying to work for people, Mamata Didi is working to make her nephew the Chief Minister."
The Home Minister has assured people that there would be no violence in the election so that the voters would be able to participate in the electoral battle without any fear.
"This time no TMC goons will be able to disturb the poll. People can go to polling booths without any scare," he said.
At a rally in South 24 Parganas, Mamata has accused Shah of threatening the press to manipulate opinion polls which have predicted the BJP's win in the elections.
At a rally in Pathar Pratima, South 24 Parganas, Mamata said, "A day before, Amit Shah babu held a meeting with the press, treated them as well as threatened them. He (Amit Shah) asked the press to fudge the opinion poll results in favour of the BJP.
"Yesterday ABP News Hindi showed the BJP is getting 175 seats. First, they (BJP) should get 75, then think about 175."
