Firing: Indian Deputy High Commissioner summoned by Pakistan Foreign Ministry
"The Government of Pakistan strongly condemned the action of the BSF troops, which is in violation of the commitment by both sides to maintain ceasefire along the Line of Control and the Working Boundary," read an official statement issued by the Pakistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
" The Government of India has been urged to investigate the incident, bring the perpetrators to justice, and ensure maintenance of peace and tranquillity along the Line of Control and the Working Boundary," it said.
Meanwhile, India's Border Security Force (BSF) Director General D. K. Pathak briefed Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh about the ceasefire violations by Pakistan Rangers at the International Border in Samba sector of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.
Pathak informed that one BSF jawan was killed in the unprovoked and premeditated Pakistani firing.
