The move came a day after friendly signals received from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Mehbooba Mufti - the political formation which emerged as the largest party in the state.
Four BJP leaders from the valley are expected meet Governor NN Vohra on Thursday.
The PDP won 28 seats in the 87-member Jammu and Kashmir assembly while the BJP won 25 seats and the National Conference placed third at 15. The Congress won 12 seats. Smaller parties and independents won seven seats.
Meanwhile, Mehbooba Mufti had met the governor on Wednesday and later dropped hints that her party was open to an alliance with the BJP.
