New Delhi/UNI: Former chief of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Ranjit Sinha passed away, here Friday morning, according to sources. He was 68.
On Thursday, he tested positive for Novel Coronavirus.
Sinha, a 1974-batch officer of the Bihar cadre, had held CBI Director post between December 2012 and December 2014.
He was also the Director General of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) force.
During his tenure as CBI director, he was accused of meeting some accused in coal scam cases at his home.
He was at the helm of the affair in CBI, when the Supreme Court described the agency as a 'caged parrot'.
