MK Stalin offers to quit DMK?
Chennai, Jan 4 (IBNS): With his supporters wanting him to play a larger role in the party, DMK chief M Karunanidhi's son and party treasurer MK Stalin on Sunday offered to resign from the party, media reports said.
Media reports quoting sources said, Stalin wanted the post of the DMK General Secretary.
Stalin, however, refuted reports of his resignation and said he is not aspiring for any post.
DMK senior leader K Anbazhagan holds the position of General Secretary and Stalin was asked to continue as the treasurer of the party, which reportedly led to his decision to resign.
The nominations filing for the post of party's president, general secretary, treasurer and four audit committee members will take place on Jan 7.
The election will be held on Jan 9.
