Supreme Court's decision on Maratha reservation unexpected, incomprehensible and disappointing: Ajit Pawar
Aurangabad/Mumbai/UNI: Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Wednesday said that today's decision of the Supreme Court on Maratha reservation is unexpected, incomprehensible and disappointing as the state government and Maratha social organizations have strongly defended themselves in the court.
Pawar, in his statement after the outcome of Supreme Court, stated that it is beyond comprehension that in other states of the country, even though the reservation limit is above fifty per cent, it is not considered regarding Maratha reservation.
"We were confident that the long, restrained, historic struggle of the Maratha brothers would succeed in the Supreme Court," he said.
The state government will decide its next role by studying the Supreme Court decision, said Pawar.
However, the state government will try its best to compensate the Supreme Court in all possible ways. The state government will do everything possible to give justice and rights to the Maratha brothers, he said.
Pawar has assured that the state government will do its utmost to remove the feeling of injustice in the minds of the Maratha brothers.
"We will not allow injustice to be done to any section of the society in the state. To this day, the Maratha community has given its fight in a peaceful, restrained, democratic way. The same role should be maintained even after the decision of the Supreme Court," he said.
"It is our responsibility not to endanger the lives of the community during the Corona crisis, but to protect the lives of all from the Corona," he said.
The state government will continue to take every possible step to ensure the just rights of the Maratha community, he added.
