'Clinically improved' Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee to be discharged tomorrow
Kolkata/IBNS: Former West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, who has "improved clinically" will be discharged on Wednesday, a medical bulletin said on Tuesday night.
Bhattacharjee, who was admitted to Kolkata's Woodlands Hospital with Covid-19 related complications, is "presently conscious, alert and talking normally", as per the bulletin.
The former CM's blood pressure is currently stable and he is having a heart rate of 64/min.
He is taking food orally and his capillary blood glucose levels are normal, the bulletin stated.
The 77-year-old is presently on oral medications, oral steroids in the tapering dose and other supportive measures.
The former Chief Minister was detected with the coronavirus on May 18.
He was hospitalised following drowsiness and shortness of breath.
Bhattacharjee, a senior Communist leader, remained the Chief Minister between 2001-2011.
