New Delhi: Wrestler Sushil Kumar, who was arrested in connection with the murder of a fellow wrestler, has demanded protein supplements, exercise bands and a special diet inside the jail as he is preparing to represent the country in the upcoming Tokyo Olympics.

The two-time Olympic medal-winning wrestler has approached a Delhi court with his requests.

He was arrested on May 23 in connection with the murder case of 23-year-old wrestler Sagar Dhankad at Chhatrasal Stadium on the night of May 4.

Dhankar had died in a Delhi hospital in the first week of May after being thrashed by Sushil Kumar and his associates, the police have alleged.

Kumar, who was absconding for days following Dhankad's death, was arrested along with his associate from Mundka area in the national capital.

A normal jail diet generally includes five rotis, two vegetables, dal and rice, which the inmates get twice a day.

However, this diet is not enough for Kumar who is preparing for the Tokyo Olympics.

Under the special diet, the champion wrestler wants Omega 3 capsules, pre-workout supplements and multivitamin pills among other things said reports.
