Modi made Gujarat synonymous with change: John Kerry

Gandhinagar, Jan 11 (IBNS): United States Secretary of state John Kerry on Sunday addressed the seventh edition of Vibrant Gujarat Summit and said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made the name of Gujarat synonymous with change and possibilities.
"Narendra Modi has made the name of Gujarat synonymous with change and possibilities," said he, adding that he was "privileged" to have come here.
 
"Moment has never been more right to tap the incredible possibilities between our two shared countries," Kerry said.
 
The US Secretary of state said India can help forge an era of peace and growth across Asia.
 
"Here is the truth: we can do more together, we must do more and we have to do it faster," said he.
 
He also informed that US President Barack Obama is excited to be the first President of the United States to be the Chief Guest of India on Republic Day.
 
Lauding Modi further, Kerry said: "I am highly impressed by PM Narendra Modi's slogan -  'Participation of all, Development of all."
 
"US and India are two countries defined by our commitment to Freedom," added he.
 
The three-day summit is being held amid tight security as several world leaders are attending the event.
 
Besides Kerry, the inauguration ceremony in being attended by United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon and 50 CEOs of top Indian as well as international companies.
 
Several ministers from Europe, Japan, Australia and Canada and over 50 CEOs of top Indian as well as international companies are also participating in the summit.
 
The summit is a day three-day affair and will conclude on Jan 13.
