Severe heat wave sweeps Delhi, Gurgaon, maximum temperature recorded 7 degrees above normal
New Delhi/IBNS: An intense heat wave swept across the national capital and nearby cities like Gurgaon on Wednesday.
The maximum temperature recorded in Delhi was 43.4 degree Celsius, stated the Palam observatory of the India Meteorological Department.
Nearby Gurgaon also reported a soaring temperature at 44.7 degree Celsius.
The temperature in both the neighbouring cities was over 7 degree Celsius more than the normal temperature for this time of the year.
Due to the increase in temperature, the India Meteorological Department has classified it as "severe extreme heat".
