Kolkata, Jan 14 (IBNS): Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Mukul Roy, who has been summoned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the Saradha chit fund scam, on Wednesday said he was never involved in any immoral act in his life.

"I have come back. I will contact them. I will certainly inform them about the day and the time when I will go to meet them," Roy told reporters on his meeting with the CBI.

"I will like to say that I was never involved in any immoral act in my life," he said .

The CBI on the same day granted the former Railway Minister seven days time to appear before it.

Roy had demanded for 15 days extension of time to appear before the the CBI.

His lawyer sent a letter to the CBI where they reportedly appealed the probe agency to grant him 15 days to appear before it.

After returning from New Delhi, the All India Trinamool Congress General Secretary went to the state secretariat Nabanna and met West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

In a major development, the CBI on Monday  summoned All India Trinamool Congress General Secretary MukulRoy for questioning  in connection with the Saradha chit fund scam.

The multi-crore scam left lakhs of depositors fleeced and triggered a political uproar.
