IBNS Canada celebrates 75th Indian Independence Day in Brampton
Toronto: On the 75th Independence Day celebration of India, IBNS Canada, the arm of India-headquartered news agency cum portal India Blooms News Service or IBNS, organized a flag hoisting ceremony in its office in Brampton.
The residents around the area gathered together to celebrate the auspicious occasion while the Indian tricolour unfurled the blue sky with the Canadian flag by its side.
Hoisting the flag from the office of IBNS, Chief of Canadian Bureau, Suman Das said, “Celebrating the spirit of India and remembering the martyrs is a very important part of our culture and as Indians living in Canada, we are proud to share this with our second generations and the communities around us.”
The festivities started with some historic speeches, hoisting of the flag, followed by some cultural recitations, songs, and dances, along with some mouth-watering traditional snacks.
“Singing the national anthem and seeing the Indian flag flying high in the Canadian sky is a very emotional moment for me. I am far away from my country for over four years now, and in Canada after such a long time I have been able to see the national flag, meet my fellow Indians, taste some great food, so it’s one of the best days for me this year,” said Nalini Bose, one of the many attendees in the event.
Over fifty people representing different Indian communities attended the event, keeping the social distance norm in place. Residents living in the area gathered in front of their houses to be part of the celebrations.
