Over 2400 fuel stations in West Bengal to stay closed tomorrow as petrol dealers' association calls for 24-hour shutdown
Kolkata/IBNS: More than 2400 fuel stations across West Bengal to stay closed from 6 am. on Tuesday (Aug 31) till 6 am. on Wednesday (Sept 1) as WB Petroleum Dealers' Association will observe a 24-hour-long shutdown over several demands.
The association said that over 2400 fuel stations across north and south Bengal will observe a no-purchase-no-sale day on Tuesday.
"Majority of the petrol pumps in the state, which are under the WB Petroleum Dealers' Association, will sell fuel tomorrow only to vehicles providing essential and emergency services," a spokesman of the association said.
Earlier this month, agitating fuel tanker-owners' association had stopped supplying petrol and diesel from Indian Oil Corporation (IOC)'s Mourigram depot near Kolkata and as a result, hundreds of IOC fuel stations in the state capital and its neighbouring districts ran dry for few days.
