Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla meets Antony Blinken, discusses Afghanistan issue

Washington/New Delhi/UNI: Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla on Thursday called on US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and discussed Indo-US bilateral ties as well as the situation in Afghanistan.

Shringla also met US Deputy Secretary Wendy Sherman for substantive discussions on advancing the Indo-US strategic partnership. They also discussed Afghanistan, the Indo-Pacific region, and the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Foreign Secretary @Harshvshringla called on US Secretary of State@SecBlinken. Discussions touched on bilateral ties and the situation in Afghanistan,” the Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi tweeted.

“Foreign Secretary @Harshvshringla met @DeputySecState Wendy Sherman for substantive discussions on advancing the India-US Strategic Partnership across sectors including healthcare, defense and security, trade and investment, S&T, climate change, clean energy and people to people ties.

“They also reviewed developments in Afghanistan, Indo-Pacific region, COVID-19 pandemic and discussed cooperation in UN and other regional and multilateral issues of mutual interest,” the spokesperson tweeted.
