Mumbai/UNI: An inquiry commission headed by a retired high court judge on Tuesday issued a bailable warrant against former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh for not appearing before it.
The Maharashtra government in March this year formed a one-member commission of retired Justice K U Chandiwal to conduct a probe into corruption allegations levelled by Singh against the then state home minister Anil Deshmukh.
The apparent expose led to several twists and turns in this police-politics saga as Deshmukh had to step down from his post and face an inquiry.
While, IPS Singh was not only shunted out to the Home Guards Department but also made an accused in several FIRs filed for allegedly extorting businessmen.
