Sunanda death: Tharoor quizzed, might be questioned on IPL

New Delhi, Jan 20 (IBNS) After police on Monday questioned Congress leader Shashi Tharoor in connection with his wife Sunanda Pushkar's alleged murder case for nearly four hours, the Delhi Police chief said on Tuesday the angle of Indian Premier League (IPL) will be probed too.

"Questions related to IPL are relevant, and whatever is relevant will be asked," said Delhi Police commissioner BS Bassi referring to the involvement of the couple in the IPL.

He said Tharoor was cooperative and what happened on that particular day was asked. Tharoor was asked about 50 questions.

He said his responses are being analyzed and after that they would consider if further questioning is required.

Tharoor was questioned at  Vasant Vihar Police Station. He reportedly admitted a marital discord, said media reports.

The Delhi Police had registered a murder case for Sunanda Pushkar, who was Tharoor’s third wife, earlier this month. Pushkar was found dead in a five-star hotel in Delhi a year ago.

Sources said a medical report submitted by doctors in December last year establishes that Pushkar was poisoned.

Earlier in November, the Congress parliamentarian had written to the Delhi Police chief appealing him to carry out a probe which should be free of political pressure or a pre-determined outcome.
