Foreign secy Shringla to call on Sri Lankan President, Prime Minister during visit

Colomb/New Delhi/UNI: Indian Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla who is undertaking a four-day official visit to Sri Lanka from Saturday, will call on President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and also visit Kandy, Trincomalee, and Jaffna during his stay.

The Sri Lankan Foreign Ministry in a statement said Shringla will also call on the Foreign Minister G. L. Peiris.

His October 2-5 visit is at the invitation of the Sri Lankan Foreign Secretary Admiral Prof. Jayanath Colombage.

The visit will contribute towards consolidating the longstanding multifaceted relations and enhance bilateral partnerships between two countries, it said.

The visiting Foreign Secretary is also expected to visit Kandy, Trincomalee, and Jaffna during his stay in Sri Lanka.

This will be his first visit to Sri Lanka since his assumption of office as the Foreign Secretary of India.
