Drug case: Aryan Khan shifted to Arthur Road jail as bail hearing resumes

Mumbai/UNI: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan, accused in the cruise bust drug case, was shifted from a quarantine center of the Arthur Road jail to normal barracks Thursday morning, hours ahead of the resumption of his bail plea hearing.

This is the 23-year-old's fourth attempt at bail since his arrest almost two weeks ago.

The bail plea hearing at a Mumbai Special Court was scheduled for noon.

Aryan Khan allegedly "indulged in illicit drug trafficking" and was involved in the "procuring and distribution of drugs", the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) told a Mumbai sessions court on Wednesday.

The star's son's defence argued that Aryan Khan had no cash on him to buy drugs, that no drugs were found on him, and finally, that he wasn't even present during the cruise raid.

The Khan family has plunged into a crisis after Aryan, 23, was arrested in the drug case following a raid at a rave party on a cruise close to two weeks ago.

Following the arrest, several Bollywood personalities including top actor Hrithik Roshan shared solidarity with Shah Rukh's son.

Reportedly, Shah Rukh has cancelled his Spain tour following Aryan's arrest.
