Kolkata/IBNS: A Kolkata-based senior corporate executive and his driver were found dead, suspected to have been murdered, in an unoccupied residential building owned by him in Gariahat area in south part of the city on Sunday late night, officials said.

According to Kolkata Police officials, bodies of Kilburn Engineering Limited's managing director, Subir Chaki (61), and his driver Rabin Mondal (65) were recovered from Subir's house at Kankulia Road under Gariahat Police Station limits.

Police said both the bodies, which were found lying in pool of blood on different floors inside the two-storey building, have been sent for autopsies.

Family members of the senior corporate boss said he had left his New Town apartment on Sunday evening to meet someone regarding the sale of his ancestral property in Gariahat where his body was found.

Sources in the police said Subir Chaki's family had contacted the local police station on Sunday night after finding the executive 'uncontactable' for hours.

"We have found multiple deep wounds, possibly of stabbing, in both the bodies which indicates they have been murdered," a senior Kolkata Police officer said.

"A probe has been started into the incident and the reason behind the deaths will be cleared after we get the autopsy reports," he added.
