Lieutenant General Tarun Kumar Aich assumes charge as Corps Commander of Trishakti Corps
Guwahati: Lieutenant General Tarun Kumar Aich assumed command of the Sukna based Trishakti Corps on Friday.
On assumption of command, the General Officer laid wreath at Sukna War Memorial and paid homage to the Bravehearts of Trishakti Corps who had laid down their lives in the line of duty.
An alumnus of National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, the General Officer was commissioned into the 16 MADRAS (TRAVANCORE) in June 1986.
He has vast operational experience of all types of terrain and sectors, including counter insurgency, glaciated high altitude terrain and the desert sector.
Having commanded an Infantry battalion deployed in Siachen Glacier, he commanded an Infantry Brigade as part of a Strike Corps and a Reorganised Army Plains Infantry Division in Desert Sector.
The General Officer has been the Commandant of the High Altitude Warfare School at Gulmarg and tenanted the appointment of Director General of National Cadet Corps in his last tenure.
For his meritorious service, the General Officer has been awarded the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal in 2021 & Chief of Army Staff Commendation cards on three occasions.
Lieutenant General Tarun Kumar Aich, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, acknowledged the exemplary dedication & commitment of all ranks of the Trishakti Corps and exhorted them for continued selfless service & devotion towards enhancement of the operation readiness of the formation.
