SP, BJP invoked Jinnah to communalise UP polls: Mayawati

Lucknow/UNI: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Monday described the verbal spat between SP and BJP over the Jinnah issue as an attempt to communalise the coming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

In a couple of tweets, she said, "The statement made by the SP chief in Hardoi yesterday about Jinnah and the BJP's reaction is part of the secret agreement between these two parties and their well-thought-out strategy so that the atmosphere in the UP Assembly elections is held up on the Hindu-Muslim issue.

"The politics of SP and BJP have been complementary to each other. Since the thinking of these two parties is casteist and communal, their existence has been based on each other. That is why when SP is in power, BJP is strong whereas when BSP is in power, BJP is weak," the BSP chief added.
