Kashmiri leader Mir Junaid discuss education, upgradation of skills with Dharmendra Prasad
Srinagar/IBNS: Jammu and Kashmir Workers Party youth leader Mir Junaid met Dharmendra Prasad, Minister for Skill and Education to discuss education, upgradation of skills and opening up the world of opportunities for youth in the state.
According to the latest census, 63% of the valley’s male residents are under the age of 30 and 70% are below the age of 35.
Mir congratulated Prasad for the excellent New Education Policy and said that no other political party in the history of India has taken the pain and has had the courage to launch such excellent reforms in the education sector.
Terming education as the backbone of a country's civilization, he further added that abrogation of Article 370 is why youth from J&K can also be beneficiaries of such tremendous efforts.
Further, Mir Junaid pointed out there is a huge demographic dividend waiting to be channelised into the right direction. The Modi government's relentless pursuit of upgrading skills of youth was a giant step in the right direction, he said.
He further apprised the minister of the tremendous work Lt Governor's administration is doing to assess, upgrade the skills of youth.
Mir argued that it is time to merge education and skill development and not see them as two watertight compartments.
The Minister inturn listened keenly, and congratulated Mir for his excellent work on ground, bringing back the Youth of J&K to the road of science, rationality and progress.
He promised that more degree Colleges will be opened and the BJP government would do everything to uplift, support and encourage the young men and women of J&K.
