New Delhi/IBNS: A three-member National Investigation Agency (NIA) team is in Canada as part of its investigation into the funding of NGOs by secessionist organisations, supporting the creation of Khalistan, like Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), media reports said.

NIA is probing foreign funding routes of organisations like SFJ, Babbar Khalsa International, Khalistan Zindabad Force, and Khalistan Tiger Force from Canada, the UK, USA, Australia, France and Germany, India Today reported.

The three-member NIA team will probe the links of these secessionist organisations with foreign entities during their four-day visit, the report said citing sources.

The team is being headed by an IG-level officer.

Earlier this year, SFJ had declared a reward of USD 2.5 lakh for those who will hoist a Khalistani flag on Red Fort on Republic Day, in an attempt to instigate the protesting farmers.

Designated terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu of SFJ, in a video, had even tried to draw a parallel between the farmers' protest with the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.
