Nagaland: Noklak DPDB meeting held at Wansoi village

Kohima/IBNS: Nagaland’s Noklak District Planning & Development Board meeting was held at Wansoi village, the adopted village of DPDB Noklak on Friday under the chairmanship of DPDB Chairman Noklak and Advisor, Fisheries & Aquatic Resources, Evaluation, Economics & Statistics, L. Khumo.

Advisor Khumo urged upon the members and the villagers to maintain a peaceful atmosphere in the district and maintain that development will come if there is peace.

The Board, being the highest decision making body in the district, requested the members to participate and discuss for the upliftment of the district.

While encouraging the Wansoi villagers, the advisor advised the villagers to co-operate with the DPDB for all round development in the village.

Deputy Commissioner & Vice Chairman DPDB Noklak, Hiazu Meru, stated that, for good governance, the Noklak DPDB had adopted Wansoi as DPDB adopted village so that, the decision making bodies can come to the door steps of the villagers. The DC advised and encouraged the villagers to share grievances and problems.

Stating that the government functioning and system has to start from the village, he requested the village authorities and leaders to have transparency and accountability in all the developmental activities and further asked them to maintain proper record of all the developmental activities in the village.

The house discussed and approved the proposal for the Construction of Multipurpose building at Wansoi village which was approved and recommended to the concerned departments.

It also approved Choklangan village as handicrafts village and apprised the concerned department.

Construction of a community hall at Pathso village was also discussed and recommended to the concerned department. Construction of BDO quarter, security fencing at Panso town,  Construction of Sub-centre staff quarters at Wansoi, Construction of PHC and MO quarters at ITC Dan and Construction of Sub-centre at Old Pangsha which were approved and recommended to the higher ups for further action. Change of nomenclature of the village from Wansoi to Wonthoi was also approved.

EAC Noklak, Kathyinla, gave a presentation on the concept of plastic free village and encouraged forming a committee on that regard in the village.

The meeting was chaired by District Planning Officer, Imsumeren Jamir. Welcome note was given by Hd GB Wansoi village, M.T.Putchong while vote of thanks was delivered by SDO (C) Noklak, C. Phuniang.

Meanwhile, Free Medical Camp, Aadhaar enrolment drive, banking services, vaccination by Veterinary Department, hands on demonstration and distribution of seeds by Agri & Allied departmen were also held at Wansoi village.

On behalf of the District Administration,  EAC Noklak, Pukha Lam handed over medical kits and equipment to Health Awareness Center, Wansoi which was received by Community Health Officer, Wansoi, Chubalemla in the presence of District Planning Officer, Noklak, Imsumeren Jamir and Head GB Wansoi, M.T. Putchong.

It may be mentioned that Wansoi village achieved 100 percent Covid-19 vaccination Friday and also a door to door vaccination campaign has been launched in the district.
