New Delhi/IBNS: Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) president Rakesh Tikait, one of the prominent farm leaders, has said the protests against the agricultural reforms will be called off only after the laws are repealed in Parliament.

After Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the repeal of laws, Tikait tweeted, "The agitation will not be withdrawn immediately, we will wait for the day when agricultural laws will be repealed in Parliament. Along with MSP, the government should also discuss other issues of farmers."

In a national address, Modi said on Friday, "Today, I want to tell everyone that we have decided to repeal all three farm laws."

"We will finish the process to repeal the law in the upcoming Parliament session."
