2001 Parliament Attack: PM Narendra Modi pays tribute to martyrs
New Delhi: Indian PM Narendra Modi on Monday paid tributes to the martyrs of the 2001 Parliament attack victims.
" I pay my tributes to all those security personnel who were martyred in the line of duty during the Parliament attack in 2001. Their service to the nation and supreme sacrifice continues to inspire every citizen," he tweeted.

On Dec 13, 2001, terrorists, allegedly belonging to Lashkar-e-Taiba (Let) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), attacked the Indian Parliament in New Delhi.
Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the prime minister then.
Although the attack was foiled, six Delhi Police personnel, two Parliament Security Service personnel and a gardener were killed. Five terrorists were also killed.
