Kashmir: JKYF distributes relief kits among fire affected people in Gurez
Srinagar/IBNS: J&K Yateem Foundation (JKYF) distributed relief kits among 70 people that were recently affected by a blaze at Kilshey Tetri village of Tulail, Gurez area, Bandipora district.
The relief kits included grocery items, blankets, school bags with stationary items and cattle fodder.
An amount of about Rs 1.50 lakh was incurred for the arrangement of relief kits.
The relief operation was carried out in collaboration with Srinagar based “Infaq Foundation”.
A Baramulla based WhatsApp group also pooled its resources for the relief activity in the area.
“A team comprising JKYF's District Bandipora Representative, Mohammad Anwar Malik, and Tehsil representatives Gulzar Ahmad (Tulail), Firdous Ahmad (Gurez) and Shakeel Ahmed Baba visited the affected families and expressed sympathies with them," the press release said.
"The team of volunteers while braving the chilling weather reached out with succor to the affected families," it said.
The affected people appealed to philanthropists and humanitarian groups for implementing steps urgently to fulfill needs of fodder for cattle before the closure of the Bandipora Gurez road for six months.
In this connection, JKYF plans a second consignment of relief items in near future for the affected people.
