Four arrested in Burdwan blast case

Kolkata, Jan 28 (IBNS) The National Investigation Agency has arrested four persons in the last 24 hours in connection with the Burdwan blast case in West Bengal.

Reports said on Wednesday that the four were arrested from  Birbhum, Murshidabad and Nadia districts.

One of the four -Habibur Sheikh, who allegedly worked as a 'recruiter' for a network of bomb makers, was carrying a reward of Rs 5 lakh on his head.

The blast that took place at Khagragar in Burdwan on October 2 last year, killed two alleged terrorists, who were also said to be members of this network.

Sheikh was allegedly one of the people who sheltered the Bangladeshi nationals involved in the case. He also allegedly  arranged false documents for them.

Dalim Sheikh, another arrested person, allegedly worked as a recruiter for the group. He and Gyasuddin, also arrested today, allegedly sheltered Bangladeshi nationals and arranged false documents for them.

Details on Motiur Rehaman, the fourth person arrested today, are awaited.

Earlier, NIA arrested Rejaul Karim, a key person, on January 3. He had a reward of Rs. 3 lakh award on his head.
