Mamata's TMC set for landslide win in KMC Elections 2021, Left, BJP fight for second spot
Kolkata/IBNS: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress (TMC) is set for a landslide victory in the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) Elections 2021 which was marred by sporadic violence on the polling day on Sunday.
As per the latest trends, the TMC is leading or winning in 134 seats while the Left is ahead in four, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in three, Congress in two and independents in one.
The ruling TMC is set to keep its hold in all 16 Boroughs in the city.
Outgoing Kolkata Mayor and TMC veteran, Firhad Hakim, has already met his party supremo Mamata Banerjee, who will be picking the next KMC head.
The TMC workers have already started celebrations in various parts of Kolkata as well as outside the residence of Banerjee.
In the 2021 Assembly Elections, the TMC stormed back to power with 213 seats (now 217) while the BJP fell behind with 77.
