Akhilesh Yadav's wife Dimple Yadav, daughter test COVID-19 positive

Lucknow/UNI: Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav's wife and former MP Dimple Yadav and her daughter Teena have tested positive for COVID, here on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, 21 people have tested positive in the last 24 hours across Uttar Pradesh.

Confirming this Dimple on Wednesday tweeted, "I have got my COVID test done, whose report is positive. I am fully vaccinated as asymptomatic. For my own safety and others I have isolated myself. I request all those, who met me recently, to get their COVID test done"

Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Medical Officer of Lucknow Dr Milind Vardhan said Teena, daughter of Dimple and Akhilesh, who was also having running fever had her test done at a local private lab.

After her report also came out positive on the basis of contact tracing test of Dimple Yadav was done and it also turned out to be positive, Vardhan said.

According to information received here Dimple and her daughter have been kept under isolation and are being treated at home.

It may be mentioned that cases of COVID-19 are once again rising in different parts of the state, including capital Lucknow. Akhilesh too contracted the virus during the second wave. Right now Akhilesh is on a tour of various districts as a part of eight leg of Samajwadi Vijay Rath yatra.
