Good Governance Week: Lasjan in Srinagar to become model panchayat for solid waste management
Srinagar/IBNS: In connection with the ongoing Good Governance Week, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Srinagar Muhammad Aijaz Asad held a public grievance redressal camp on the eve of Block Diwas at Lasjan, on Wednesday.
The camp was held to bridge the gap between the administration and the people particularly living in distant areas of the district for on spot resolution of public issues.
During the Grievance Redressal Camp, local PRI representatives, public delegations and individuals projected various issues and demands before the DC.
The demands and issues flagged-off included augmentation of water supply and drainage system, providing electric transformer issuance of revenue extracts, pending payment under MGNREGA, and upgradation of High School, Lasjan amongst various others.
On the occasion, the DC after giving patient hearing to the grievances and demands of the public, sought on spot responses from the concerned district officers present during the Grievance Redressal Camp.
A comprehensive solid waste management project has been developed for mitigating the issues of solid waste and in this regard the district administration is providing a solid waste collection van to the Lasjan Block for collection and disposal based on a scientific method.
