Maharashtra: Night curfew from Jan 10 to control Covid surge
Mumbai/UNI: In view of rising Covid-19 cases, Maharashtra government has announced to implement new guidelines in the state from Sunday midnight.
In this regards a notification has been issued by the State Chief Secretary Debashish Chakraborty on Saturday.
As per the notification, night curfew has been imposed from 2300 hours to 0500 hours while Jamavbandhi has been imposed from 0500 hours to 2300 hours.
Also, schools and colleges in the state will remain closed till February 15.
Grounds, parks, tourist spots will be closed. Salon private offices will operate at 50 per cent capacity.
Restaurants, theaters, cinemas will be open at 50 per cent capacity till 2200 hours.
Swimming pools, gyms and spas will also remain closed.
Also, only people with two doses of vaccine will be allowed to avail public transport service.
Only 50 people will be allowed for weddings and 20 for the funeral ceremony, the notification added.
It may noted that the Covid positive cases rise in state and 41,434 cases were reported on Saturday with 13 fatalities and 1,73,238 actives were undergoing treatment.
Also 133 cases of new Omicron were spotted in the state, took its tally to 1009.
