Delhi to lift anti-COVID-19 weekend curfew, schools to remain shut: Sources
New Delhi/UNI: Weekend curfew would be lifted in the national capital while schools will continue to remain closed, according to the decisions taken in a meeting of Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) held on Thursday.
Besides, the night curfew will continue to be enforced in the national capital till further orders.
The sources told UNI that the decision has been taken amid the declining cases and falling positivity rate of COVID-19 in Delhi.
However, the plummeting trajectory of COVID-19 has led the authority to ease the curbs enforced in the city for nearly a month.
According to the DDMA officials, the authority has allowed cinema halls, multiplexes, bars and restaurants to operate with a capacity of 50 per cent.
However, the gyms and spas will continue to remain shut.
Meanwhile, up to 200 people will also be allowed to attend a wedding function.
The authority has also lifted the odd-even scheme from the opening of shops in the markets and allowed them to operate regularly.
Besides, the government offices in Delhi, who have been working remotely, will be allowed to open with 50 percent of their employees while the rest will continue to work from home.
