Uttar Pradesh Assembly Polls:" BJP releases 7th list of candidates

New Delhi/UNI: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday released its seventh list of candidates for the Uttar Pradesh assembly polls, and announced 91 more names of candidates for the state.

This contains seats that go to polls in the fourth and fifth phases of the seven phase election. Sitting MLA Ved Prakash Gupta is the party candidate from Aayodhya.

There were speculations over Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath fighting from this seat.

The first list issued by the party ,however, said Adityanath would fight from Gorakhpur. Minister in the state government Sidharth Nath Singh will contest from Allahabad West, Upendra Tiwari is in fray from his seat Phephana, Nandkumar Gupta Nandi will take on opponents from Allahabad South and Surya Pratap Shahi from Pathardeva.

Suresh Pasi, also a minister in the state government, will jump in the electoral battle from Jagdishpur, Ramapati Shastri from Mankapur, and Satish Dwivedi will fight from Etawah.

Subhash Rai, who recently quit the Samajwadi Party and joined the BJP, will look to defeat the contenders from Jalalpur, while Rakesh Sachan who quit Congress and joined BJP recently will take to the field from Bhognipur.

With this list, the BJP has so far announced 295 names for Uttar Pradesh. The elections in Uttar Pradesh will take place on February 10, 14 , 20, 23, 27, March 3 and 7.
