On Mar 8, India had sent the third convoy of 2,000 MT of wheat to Jalalabad in Afghanistan.
The wheat consignments are part of India's commitment of 50,000 MT of wheat for Afghanistan.
The wheat will be distributed in Afghanistan by the World Food Programme.
The Food Corporation of India in a tweet said: “Fourth consignment of 2000 MT Wheat out of total 50,000 MT as humanitarian assistance from GOI dispatched to Afghanistan through Wagah-Attari border indicates tireless efforts by #FCI.”
The Indian aid comes at a time when Afghanistan is amidst a major food crisis as nearly 23 million Afghans—over half of the population—are facing extreme levels of hunger.
