Former Haryana Congress chief Ashok Tanwar, who had joined the Trinamool Congress (TMC) in 2021, on Monday switched to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

Tanwar tweeted, "The work being done in public interest under the able leadership of popular leader Shri @ArvindKejriwal ji has inspired me to join @AamAadmiParty.

"I will try my best to live up to the confidence of the party leadership by continuing to raise the voice of the people."

After quitting Congress in 2019, Tanwar had launched his own party Apna Bharat Morcha before joining the TMC.

Tanwar, a former Indian National Youth Congress chief, was a close aide of top Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
