Srinagar: Claiming that the present situation is quite normal, Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police, Dilbag Singh on Tuesday termed active terrorist groups as monsoon mushrooms stating that they have no existence.

"Situation is normal and the security forces are successfully carrying out anti-terrorism operations," Singh told reporters during his visit to Panchayat Palli in Samba district this afternoon.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Palli Panchayat on April 24 to address Panchayat members and launch many developmental projects.

No doubt the terrorists are also carrying out attacks but they are being identified and neutralized, said the police chief.

He said, "The groups active presently are like monsoon mushrooms and they have no existence."

"Mostly are affiliated with the Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) and they are operating on the directions of their handlers from across the border," Singh said and added, "we are identifying everyone and action is being initiated accordingly."

On Amarnath Yatra, Singh said that situation is normal and all security arrangements are in place.

However, he also said that the Pakistan is misleading the youth for new recruitment and these recruits are being trapped through terrorist activities by their handlers.

The police chief also revealed that they have found a major clue in the killing of a RPF jawan in Kashmir on Monday and action will be taken soon.

Meanwhile on smuggling of weapons, Singh said, "Smuggling of weapons is the new modus operandi of Pakistan either through land route from or using drones but the security forces are monitoring and foiling all these designs."

Use of pistols are being made in targeted killings but all such modules have been busted to prevent smuggling of weapons, said the DGP.
