BSF rescues 43 cattle along Indo-Bangladesh border in Meghalaya
Shillong: In its attempt towards making the International Border smuggling free, BSF Meghalaya rescued 43 cattle from different locations on the Indo-Bangladesh border which were meant to be smuggled to Bangladesh.
BSF troops acting on specific tip off intercepted 2 cattle laden trucks while proceeding towards International Border, although drivers managed to escape from the spot.
Miscreants usually unload cattle in the forest area near International Border and get them crossed to Bangladesh on getting opportunity.
BSF Meghalaya seized 377 cattle in this month.
The seized cattle were handed over to concerned police outpost for further disposal.
The Border Security Force has identified vulnerable routes/patches used frequently by cattle smugglers and are dominating the sensitive areas by deploying additional manpower and gadgets.
BSF is maintaining high degree of alertness on the International Border to maintain National security as well as to prevent all kind of trans-border crimes and illegal activities.
