Lucknow/Pauri/IBNS: Cutting away from politics and governance, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met his mother Savitri Devi Tuesday.

Adityanath, a Hindu priest, met Savitri Devi for the first time since becoming the Chief Minister of the country's most populous state.

The Chief Minister tweeted a picture where he is seen seeking blessing from his mother.

He captioned the picture saying, "Maa (mother)."

Reportedly, Adityanath, who belongs to the Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), visited his hometown Pauri in Uttarakhand to attend a family function.

Also this is the first time the firebrand Hindutva leader has returned to Pauri to attend a family function in the last 28 years.

Amid Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdown, Adityanath had missed his father's last rites following the coronavirus rules which were imposed in the country back then.
