President Kovind to address Bodo Sahitya Sabha conference in Assam
Guwahati/UNI: President Ram Nath Kovind will attend the valedictory function of the 61st annual conference of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS) at Tamulpur in Bodo Territorial Region on Wednesday.
Kovind arrived in Guwahati on Tuesday evening and was received by the Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma at the Lokpriyo Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport.
After attending the valedictory function, President will also grace the valedictory function of North East Festival at Guwahati, organised by the Ministry of DoNER as a part of 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
On Thursday, he will attend the 16th convocation of Mizoram University at Aizawl.
The three-day BSS conference will begin on Monday.
More than 4,000 delegates are expected to attend the three-day conference from different parts of the world.
The Assam government has sanctioned special casual leave to the state government employees who would participate in the conference to be held at Kachubari in Tamulpur under Bodoland Territorial Region.
The BSS has undertaken a massive campaign and arrangement to make the event successful. It has also released a theme song for the conference.
